Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road)

What is so mysterious about this road to name itself a mysterious road and now has became a tourist attraction?

From eyes level, it seems like it is a upwards sloping road ahead. When our coach off its engine at the start of the mysterious road, logically it should roll backwards, however surprisingly it actually rolling uphill at its neutral gear.

This road actually has a 3 degree downward slant but due to the surrounding terrain that creates this optical illusion that it appears like a uphill slope. It has nothing to do with the gravity. The road is around 200 metres I guess. Optical illusion can be further experience in Trick Art Museum in Korea.

Is this uphill or downhill?

You can also buy can drinks and put on the road and see which way will it roll to.

Korean ginseng chicken soup at butterfly themed restaurant

The owner must be loving butterfly the most

One whole ginseng chicken each! After I took out the drumsticks, a big fly flew into the soup direction and stuck there.... ~.~ Managed to change another bowl and now I have 4 drumsticks! The restaurant gave all of us a glass of ginseng wine too. One bowl of ginseng chicken was too much for a person as it has glutinous rice within the chicken and vermicelli as side dish.

Yongduam Rock (Dragon Head Rock)

This is just like the Queen's head in Taiwan.

According to the legend of Korea, black dragons brings bravey, hope and good luck.

This Yongduam symbolises the black dragon from the ancient times. People believe that wishes come true if they are made here. *make a wish*

Yongduam Rock (Dragon Head Rock)
Address: Yongdamroteo-ri Yongdam-2dong, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

We took a flight back to Incheon Airport. It seems that we have not explored enough in Jeju Island. =( and I have missed out manjanggul cave......

First meal back in Seoul

It mainly cabbage + chicken + rice + seaweed. It actually was quite tasty!

Next destination of the day: Namiseom Island! I was initally very looking forward but was turned out a little disappointment..

Jeju's delicacy: Black pork meat

their restaurant set up almost the same everywhere..

Remember the black pig on the previous post? Here it is.. kim chi marinated black pork. Heard that it is very nutritious. The side dishes are mainly the same. My favourite is the beansprout.

Most korean restaurants provide cook-while-you-eat services. Made you feel like a chef lol

Cheonjeyeon Falls 天地渊瀑布

Cheonjeyon Falls also refers to "the pond of God" where nymphs descend to take a bath.

Dol Hareubang everywhere...

Stretch of eateries outside the waterfall. Look at the bottom left picture, I did not know what was it but it looked very the gross when I stepped forward to see. It is called as "Beondegi" which means "silkworm pupae" in Korean. Yes, pupae.... can not believe Koreans love to eat this as snack. They even sell it in a can where you can eat whenever you like... like when you watching TV in your living room........................ okay gonna stop the imagination now.

Coffee & Donuts cafe even has dol hareubang frosting on their glass window

Okay, waterfall a little boring... I would have skipped it if I have a choice..

Columnar Joints (Jusangjeollidae Cliff) at Jeju Jungmun Daepo Coast

climb again..

Jusangjeolli is a rocky cliffs with columnar joints which was formed by the lava from Mountain.Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun.

Viewing from the top, they look like cubes or hexagons of various sizes columns of rocks and almost seem as if stonemasons had carved them out. What a beautiful sight of mother nature.

Teddy Bear Museum

The Teddy Bear Museum is one of their most popular tourist attraction in Korea and has been loved since introduced over 100 years ago.

The story behind it was that long long time ago, there was this Amercian President went for bear hunting but he had not shot a bear at the end of his trip. One of the staff members caught a bear cub for him to shoot, however, he believed it was not a right way of sportmanship. This news spread rapidly and therefore built this museum after the President's nickname "Teddy".

When I heard this story, all my mind was thinking "Then why the President wanted to go bear hunting in the first place?" Okay let's move on..

Let's go in!

Here I pronounce you, husband and wife. Congrats, Mr and Mrs Teddy !

NANTA

It is a non verbal comedy "musical/rhythmic" performance (maybe with all the shoutings) using kitchen equipment. It has won Best Urban program award in 2009.

It actually very worth of the ticket price. The performancers were funny with their action and stunts, and they even invited audience up to stage to play with them. I would use this phrase to describe their perfect performance "One minute of performance on stage, ten years of hard work off stage".

Nanta

Dinner

Most expensive meal ever.. being psychoed by our tour guide to try this restaurant. He said "come to Jeju this island is surrounded by sea of course must try their seafood! Their seafood are the freshest!".

Here we are at the japanese fusion restaurant..

Before throwing all ingredient in

They served ALOT of dishes and in fast rate. I only managed to take pictures of some dishes only. I think they served like near 15 dishes.

Did you see abalone? They were still alive and moving when the staff served to us. It was actually quite creepy. Some people might find it very fresh though.

After throwing all the ingredients in. Looks very delicious now!

I smiled the widest when I saw this is served! MY FAVOURITE!

Finally, desserts of the day. Sesame and red bean mochi.

Okay lah, actually this meal quite worth the price. Per person around 50,000 won... have abalones, crabs, sashimi, near 15 dishes and OH YES also live cuttlefish! Yea... eating cuttlefish live.....

End of day 2...

Back to Korea - Jeju : Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) + Seongeup Folk Village
