Japan - Hokkaido : Hakodate

Hakodate - Feb 2016

We left Sapporo and reached Hakodate where is the northernmost of Hokkaido before we fly back to Singapore.

We took 3.5hrs JR train and reached Hakodate in the evening. After settling down in our airbhb, we went straight out to Fort Goryokaku which is a massive, star shaped, Western style citadel.

We went to LUCKY PIERROT for dinner which is a very famous local hamburger chain only in Hakodate area. It can be found anywhere so you will not missed it.

The Chinese Chicken Hamburger is the most popular and delicious hamburger in this shop.

While it is still early, we strolled around the Motomachi area.

In winter, the trees lining the sloping streets are strung with lights as part of an event known as the "Hakodate Illumination," which creates a really romantic vibe.

The trees are lit from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Red Brick Warehouses

The next morning, we went to see some snow monkey dipping in the hot spring.

Ok abit not worth going because this is what you gonna see there.

Then we headed back to Motomachi area to explore before we take the Hakodateyama Ropeway to Mount Hakodate.

Octoupus ice cream! quite nice actually.

Today was so foggy omg. We should have go up the mountain yesterday!

omg this is the best salt based ramen I ever had! #damnIforgotwhereisthisplace

We finally going up the ropeway.

The night view from Mount Hakodate is one of Japan's three best night views. I hope I am able to see it without regret!

Oh nooo... =(

I have been standing outside guarding my spot in the wind in preparation of the best night view ever.

The fog slowly clearing!

I did not leave Mount Hakodate in vain YAYS!

Thank you Hakodate for the wonderful stay!

Bye Japan, I will visit YOU again! =D

Japan - Hokkaido : Tomamu

Tomamu - Feb 2016

Tomamu is not very near Sapporo so if not staying overnight at Tomamu, have to plan the time well due to infrequent JR trains.

I insisted to come to Tomamu for their Ice Village - a city of ice that appears only in winter in Tomamu. The ice village is free and open to the public so dont worry if you are staying there.

Ice Village only opens at 7pm and we reached slightly early so we hang out at their hotel enjoying their free wifi.

All visitors have to slide down to enter the ice village lol so fun!

Ice Chapel. OMG This is so cool and pretty.

And there was actually a wedding ceremony going on in there!

The groom and the bride!

We wish u a lifetime of happiness!

This is the Ice Hotel where visitors have to book in far advance in order to stay here.
